Come along to the Henderson Hall this week to see the ALP’s latest production: A Letter from the General.
The play is set in an unnamed eastern country – almost certainly China – in 1950. Following a revolution, a small community of nuns is contemplating whether to stay and face the dangers of life under the new communist regime, or close their mission. Already their peace has been interrupted by the arrival of soldiers camping outside their gates and as the play opens, more visitors arrive. These newcomers bring new dangers and tensions to the sisters and test their inner strength to its limits.
A Letter from the General is being performed at the Henderson Hall from Wednesday 19 to Saturday 22 March at 7.45pm, with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets can be reserved by ringing the Box Office on 0844 8045354.
